this past december wade decided he was ready for another shoot.  deciding on a wedding theme this time, he organized everything from the models to the location & dresses.  i love working with wade as all i have to do is show up & shoot!  :)

wade took care of the hair & makeup, natalie provided the stunning backdrops at Virginia’s House, Arizona Broadway Theatre & So, LLC provided us with plenty of astonishing wedding dresses, & our models provided their gorgeous smiles!  thank you all for another fantastic shoot!  though we ran late into fading evening light, we still pulled off a beautiful shoot!

i grew up in the outdoors.  i’ve been blessed to learn of the creatures of the desert, the splendor of a flash flood, the secrets of the mountains, the beauty of the uninterrupted night sky, by actually being around them.  so it’s even more of a bonus to be married to a man who has the same passion for being in the outdoors; albeit in a jeep, four-wheeling.  but i’m good with that too.

this past new year’s weekend we spent our time with family & friends at our usual stomping grounds; ‘the ranch’ off highway 74.  we spent 2 days changing flat tires, putting out engine fires, repairing drive shafts & plugging holes from missing axle housing plugs; all in the best of spirits.  it was a gorgeous weekend-why spoil it with foul moods?

here’s some of my favorite images.  enjoy.

this special ends february 28th!!  book soon!!!

kim & her family

another wonderful morning spent photographing a family at dc ranch.  you can’t even tell it’s cold right?  what’s with this arizona weather?!

thank you jennifer lutz for the referral!  you’re amazing!!

sometimes families come together for holidays.  sometimes for weddings.  and sometimes an event happens that brings the family together for a gentle, yet powerful reminder of how important a family is.  those moments are to be cherished…

a daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart.

i spent an afternoon last month with dayna & he daughters roaming around vistancia.  what a day!  it wasn’t just the beauty of vistancia-its gorgeous waterfalls & gorgeous grounds-but also the cloudy, rainy, calm day we shot on.  it was perfect….

an oxymoron, i know.  but it’s true.   it had to be 10 below…  it sure felt that way.  but kim & all of her extended family did their best to think tropical thoughts & smile through their chattering teeth!  what troopers!  :)

thank you beverly!  always a pleasure seeing you guys again!

little vivian’s debut

if one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. i think that i see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.
– vincent van gogh

vivian lee was born early this past december.  i had the opportunity a couple of days after to share her first meeting with her big brother & sister & all of her grandparents.  what an event!  we hustled around her eating  napping schedule to snap some quick photos with the various family members.  i don’t know who was more excited to hold her-brother & sister or the grandparents!

thank you berin & jen!

fam-i-ly

noun
~a person or people related to one another and so to be treated with a special loyalty or intimacy.

what a great definition.  and how amazing to be a part of something so profound-to be a part of a family.  something that at times can be so simple & complex as one; gratifying & taxing together; loving & harrowing at the same time.  but no matter.. a strong family always is a place to yearn for.  something to work hard to keep together.  an idea to make a reality.

thank you to dominique, charles, olivia & nicholas for a wonderful afternoon!  you are a beautiful family & i wish you a blessed new year!

and thank you jennifer lutz for a wonderful referral.  truly appreciated.

little logan’s debut

every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever-fresh and radiant possibility.
kate douglas wiggin

every parent understands the life-altering path that’s forged when a child is born.  the shortened days & sleepless nights, the tightened budgets, cluttered home & endless worries that go without saying when there’s a little one underfoot.  all the things that make the future worth working towards with eager anticipation & happy hearts.

congratulations lyndsey & cody.  may your futures be richly blessed as a loving family!

thank you also, heather, for the wonderful referral.

a beard family christmas

if you never did, you should. these things are fun, and fun is good.

~dr. seuss

i’ve had the pleasure of photographing the beard family since tiff was pregnant with her youngest boy, parker.  we’ve had so much fun the last couple of years getting to know each other.  so of course this year for the christmas photos was no exception.  we headed out to verrado in buckeye for some new backdrops.  wouldn’t you know that the day was windy & cold!  in between locations we’d all pile into tiff & levi’s jeep for heat & kleenex, trying to make sure noses weren’t too red or runny!

despite the odd arizona weather, the pictures turned out beautifully.  thank you beards!  it’s always a blast hanging out with you guys!

rainy day photos

jennifer’s family photos this year were done on a cold, rainy arizona day (sounds like an oxymoron, i know).  we didn’t have a whole lot of option for rescheduling as her extended family was in town from connecticut (i think they brought this oxymoron-type weather with them!).  so we went for it, ducking for cover any time it got a little too heavy to handle.  and wouldn’t you know, the pictures turned out remarkably!
thank you to the whole lutz clan!  another fantastic shoot for the books!  can’t wait to meet the new lutz boy in may!

i love my job. i get to meet some of the most amazing people & be a part of some of the most important events of their lives.  i am truly blessed!

rachel & jeff’s wedding was amazing.  the floral arrangements alone were enough to send me into euphoria.  not to mention the spectacular bridal party & the beautiful bride.  so calm & collected.  so cheerful.  so stunning.  and all the work everyone put into this day to make sure it went of without a hitch.  perfect!

thank you to megan & levi for the wonderful referral!  i sincerely appreciate it!

family photos at home

sometimes the best place for a great family shoot is right at home.  there’s nothing more relaxing than you’re comfy couch.  nothing better than playing in your own backyard.  so when krista told me she wanted to do their shoot at home, i quickly & happily agreed.  the best part of it?  trying to get 3 dogs (1 deaf & blind) and a 2 year old little boy’s attention.  what a challenge!

thanks krista, justin & blake for a great shoot!

in my opinion, nothing.  :)

i met the miller family last year at one of their eight children’s’ wedding.  such a laid back, comfortable, loving family!  so when they contacted me this year to get their large family shoot done, i was thrilled!  we met fairly early at the mesa temple on black friday (me, shopping?? are you crazy?!) & took our time getting the best images.  the day was stunning, the family looked great!  another superb shoot completed!

thank you david & alyona!  it’s always a pleasure seeing you again!

jessica & matt are set to be married early next year.  so it was time to get their engagement shoot done!  jessica scoped out a fantastic spot in mesa that gave us the tranquil, romantic backdrops we were looking for.  so, bright & early we met up for our speedy shoot & these were the results! gorgeous!

photos with the romos

bobbie contacted me a couple weeks back needing her family photos done along with her oldest son’s senior photos.  so we met out in the estrella community one afternoon to get some great, arizona photos.  what a great session!  the weather was perfect, the backdrops, gorgeous.  and the romos looked fantastic.

thank you to jenifer padilla for the referral!

the boys of summer

melissa had this shoot planned to the T.  she had the location picked out.  the outfits ready.  the time spot on.  this couldn’t have been an easier shoot.  even duke the dog did a great job!

so we shot this fantastic family shoot over at las sendas in mesa.  the location was perfect.  plus the short walk over to the golf course made for bonus sunset images.  beautiful family melissa!  thank you for your time!

also, thank you to cassie for another wonderful referral!
