Beauty Foods for Wedding Glow

Every bride wants to look their absolute best on their wedding day.  And that ‘wedding day glow’ all the grandmas talk about?  There are ways to boost it naturally.

Kimberly Snyder of KimberlySnyder.net – a New York Times bestselling author and the go-to nutritionist for many of the entertainment industries top celebrities – says:

Clean Up Your Diet (and Your Gut)

See what happens when you give up dairy for a few weeks, and cut back on your other animal products so that you’re only having them a couple of times per week (if at all). Minimize or eliminate processed and refined foods, too, and eat a more natural, plant-based diet. What the meats, dairy, and processed and refined foods do is clog up your intestines with acidic toxins that can contribute to acne. Those toxins overwhelm your organs and alter the balance of good and bad bacteria in the intestines.

My secret (well, not so secret anymore!) weapon against acne that has really helped me on my own journey has been the Probiotic & Enzyme Salad, which replaces the good bacteria you may have lost through poor dietary choices in the past.

Already a healthy eater?  Have you thought about juicing?        >>  As a photographer living the juicer lifestyle, I can tell you from experience the difference a week of juicing can make for your skin as well as overall health & the way you feel!  And I’m not even talking the extreme of doing a fast (a topic for another day!).  I’m just suggesting adding a juicing lifestyle to your regimen a month or so ahead of your wedding date. <<

Bridal beauty food 3: Garlic

It may not have the most fragrant smell but garlic is a super food that can have great skin benefits. As a natural antibiotic with blood cleansing, immune boosting, antibacterial properties, garlic is an effective, cheap and healthy way to help naturally treat acne. While there are many reasons people suffer from spots, garlic – particularly when eaten raw and crushed – can help reduce future breakouts, while its anti-inflammatory properties can reduce swelling of acne.

Glamour.com chimes in with some great advice as well:

Get your GLA on! Fatty acid Gamma-linoleic (or GLA) helps create glowing skin and healthy wedding hair and nails. Nature’s source? Hemp. Toss hemp seeds on whole grains, berries or salad or use a hemp protein powder in your smoothie. Manitoba Harvest and Nutiva hemp products are great!

So there it is; a little advice to help bring some natural glow to those cheeks & maybe drop some of the muffin top in the process!  There’s nothing better than a bride feeling gorgeous – it shines in her wedding photos!!

Cheers!
